About Us

Cheeky Monkeys Coffeehouse is located in the city of Portland, Michigan right downtown along the Grand River at 176 Kent St.. Started in 2005, with homemade soups & sandwiches, cinnamon rolls, muffins, cookies and a full range of tea, coffee, flavored lattes, expresso and cappucino. We've recently added fresh fruit smoothies and gelato. Also, completed last year is the beautiful new boardwalk along the back of our shop.

Michigan Governor Jennifer Granholm with owners Michelle (on right) and Georgina (left) on a recent visit to Portland to survey the construction of the new Portland Boardwalk. Granholm's entourage set up camp at the coffeehouse and declared our cinnamon rolls "The best in Michigan!".

Portland is a unique community in south-central Michigan. The Looking Glass River joins the Grand River here and forms a point downtown thus the nickname the "City of Two Rivers". It has a long and rich history as a trading post with the native Americans and early settlers. Also, there are over 12 miles of paved jogging trails for biking, skating, jogging or strolling along the riverside. Our Riverwalk will soon loop the entire City, connecting all of our schools and parks. Portland is truly a walkable community and draws visitors from the greater Lansing and Grand Rapids areas, where many of our residents work. More information on Portland below:
